In 1983, KACSF's parent organization, KAC, was founded in Los Angeles to facilitate the Korean American community's participation in civic, legislative, and community affairs. In January 2003, a national KAC chapter was launched to address broader issues faced by the Korean American community.
KACSF was established in March 2001 to carry out the mission of educating, organizing and empowering the Bay Area Korean American community. Through various programs, including speaker forums and voter registration outreach events, KACSF works to provide resources and education to empower Bay Area Korean Americans. KACSF is solely run by volunteers and is a non-profit, non-partisan organization.
